The St. Michael’s College PPU offers its deepest sympathy to any past pupils who were victims of abuse while attending St. Michael’s College. The Union stands in solidarity with victims and offers its fulsome support.
The Union does not want to see any victim left behind without support, without a voice, without an opportunity to be heard.
The Union supports the work of ‘Restore Together’, an advocacy group for victims of sexual abuse in Spiritan schools, made up of victims and non-victims. Restore Together is working with the Spiritan Order to offer support and bring healing to those who suffered as children and continue to suffer as adults.
The Union strongly encourages any past pupils who were victims, or otherwise affected, to please make contact with any of the following organisations, which can offer support;
Restore Together, Tim Chapman – info@timchapman.eu
Spiritan Safeguarding Office, Liam Lally – liam.lally@spiritanplt.ie
Tusla: The Child and Family Agency www.tusla.ie
St. Michaels College Flaming Sword Foundation www.smcu.ie/flaming-sword
The Union stands ready to facilitate any past pupil who needs support in making contact with the above. In the event that a victim is reluctant to contact any of the above, please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of the Union Committee, in strictest confidence, who will do their level best to facilitate an appropriate introduction – Committee details are on www.smcu.ie
